Sugar production
Sugar is a common food considered to be one of the main sources of energy for the human body. Sugar belongs to the carbohydrate group and its main function is to provide energy to the body.
The manufacture of sugar requires a demanding and careful process that begins when the sugar cane is moved and shredded so that the mills can extract the cane juice or guarapo. This material is washed to extract more than 85% of the sugar contained in the cane.
From this process, bagasse is obtained from which, through its combustion, we can obtain an electricity supply.
The extraction of the cane juice by means of a clarification process serves to eliminate the greater amount of impurities, a part called cachaza is converted into organic fertilizer. The juice, on the other hand, is filtered to produce molasses. The clarification of the molasses leads to the crystallization of the sugar and with the use of centrifugal machines the crystals are separated. The process concludes with the stage of drying and packaging of the product for later consumption.
